ARANESP

  • Aranesp is an anemia drug for certain patients with chronic kidney failure or cancer
  • Aranesp has caused deaths, non-fatal heart attacks, strokes, heart failure and blood clots in patients with chronic kidney failure receiving higher than recommended doses

  • An FDA-mandated black box warning has been added to Aranesp labeling

Lawsuits are being filed across the country against Amgen, the drug company that manufactures and promotes Aranesp. The FDA continues to receive reports of serious injuries and deaths resulting from Aranesp use. Amgen has been accused of using deceptive advertising and unlawful marketing strategies to increase sales. The Aranesp label now warns about the life-threatening risks associated with Aranesp use.
